Olympic Doodle No. 16 presents „Rhythmic Gymnastics“ (Aug. 11, 2012). Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which individuals or teams of competitors (2 or more people) manipulate one or two pieces of apparatus: rope, clubs, hoop, ball, ribbon and Free (no apparatus). The victor is the participant who earns the most points, determined by a panel of judges, for leaps, balances, pirouettes (pivots), flexibilities, apparatus handling, execution, and artistic effect.

It’s the third „Rhythmic Gymnastics Doodle“ in the history of Google Doodles. For the summerolympics 2008 in Beijing Google shows a cow (!?) – funny idea:
And during the olympics 2004 in Athens Google shows this Doodle to present „Rhythmic Gymnastics“:
