Since mid-December I found some extreme high-formats in the Google image search. And not only in the inage-search but also in the results of universal search on the main Google result-page. I suspect that it is a test. However, this test took quite a while. Since at least mid-December, the extreme vertical formats can be found at Google . It looks a little bit strange because you can’t idetify anything. I made a sample screen:
1. Universal search:
First the organic result page with universal integration. The keyword is only german. I have to learn to work more with english keywords…

Extreme high-format pictures - Google universal search
2. English image-search
This is how it looks like in the english image-search:

Extreme high-formats in Google image-search
3. German image-search
In Germany we see still the old version of the Google image-search. Then it looks like this:

Extreme high-formats in the actual german image-search
Strange, isn’t it? May be Google decide to include these high-formats because many popular infographics are high-formated.

Der Mehrwert dieser Darstellungsform bei so großformatigen Bildern ist zu diskutieren :)
Yes, of course you cannot identify anything.
