On June 21st it’s „Winter Solstice“. You can call it in simple words: First Day of Winter 2013. That is the the time at which the sun appears at noon at its lowest altitude above the horizon. On the southern hemisphere the winter begins now – officially. On the northern hemisphere the summer begins. The amazing animated doodle shows a hands knitting a scarf. It’s designed by german artist Christoph Niemann. Christoph Niemann is an illustrator, graphic designer, and author of several books including some children’s books. Very nice doodle.
