Eiffel Tower Doodle
„When did the eiffel tower open to the public?“ 126 years ago, on March 31th 1889, the Eiffel Tower in Paris was opened to the public. It was most tallest building in the world. Build with steal, designd by french Gustave Eiffel und build by his company, it is one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The Eiffel Tower is the most-visited paid monument in the world – it received its 250 millionth visitor in 2010. Amazing!
Here the doodle:
As allways you can find the Google chars in the picture:
Google honors it as usual with a nice logo design on the homepage. Instead of „Eiffel Tower“ or „126 years of Eiffel Tower“ it shows the question „when did the eiffel tower open to the public“. This is a new way of searching. Instead of typining in a conkret phrase Google shows us the future in search: type in questions – and Google shows the answer.
It is a fundamental change: Google is not any longer a „search engine“, but it starts to become a „find engine“. Let’s see how long they will show us 10 results. Perhaps in some months / years there will be just one answer – in the center of a full covered wall of advertisment.
Here ist the doodle – originally just a static picture – as a video, combined with a nice music :-)
