[New: London 2012 Basketball Google Doodle Video] … Ok, let the games begin… The Olympic Games 2012 in London will be opened today. Google celebrates the Opening of the Olympic Games 2012 (July 27th, 2012). It is the first of 17 olympic Doodles that will be shown on Googles homepage during the next two and a half weeks. Five athletes represent the five continents: Europe, Asia, North-America, South-America and Africa. Originally, the ancient Olympic Games were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894. Since then, the Olympic Games are held every four years.

I am not sure what to think about it. It’s nice, of course, but it isn’t an outstanding one. We have seen a lot of really great doodles the last months. But anyway: let’s celebrate the olympics. What I really like are the nice and clear figures. I’m sure they will demonstrate us some sports in the next days…
As allways I made a video with some informations about the olympic games.

It is not an interactive or animated doodle. If you compare it with the last olympic Doodle concept it shows humans as athletes. 2008 (Beijing) the doodle-designer uses animals. Here are all olympic Doodles of the summer-games 2008:
